Swelldesk is located in Atouguia da Baleia, approximately 2.3 kilometers away from the beach of Baleal. Even if it looks far away on some days you can hear the ocean and the waves from all sides. You can reach the surf-beaches within 10 minutes:

Next to Swelldesk you’ll find Peniche and Ferrel, two popular places for surfing.

15 Minutes Away
Obidós
If you’re looking for some excursions you can visit the historic city of Obídos with it’s castle and walls. The city is known for it’s delicious “Ginja de Obídos”, which is a cherry liquor served in a chocolate cup. There are a lot of little shops and restaurants with a lovely flair.
Usually there are throughout the year some interesting and special markets.
15 Minutes Away
Berlengas
The Berlengas archipelago consists of thirteen small islands. The water around the archipelago is famous for its clear water and is one of Portugals popular diving spots. Plenty of diving schools in Peniche are offering tours.
You can visit Berlengas by ferry. They start from Peniche harbor. In the summer season it is recommended to reserve a ticket one/two days before you go. On the island there is a nice roundtrip hike which will take three hours. There is also one small beach in a beautiful lagoon.
40 minutes Away
Nazaré
Throughout the year Nazaré is a vibrant and lively vacation destination around 40 minutes north of Peniche.

Other than other cities in Portugal its high season though is during the winter months. Then Nazaré attracts a huge target group of local and international tourists, especially surfers and those who like to watch the biggest shore waves in the world to break close to the beach of Praia do Norte.

Sintra will amaze you with a very colorful castle. But the UNESCO World Heritage Site got some more sights worth to see. Check out the Quinta da Regaleira, a well which you can walk in or just check out the beautiful gardens.
